PMPS dosing pumps are positive displacement pumps that pump precise repeatable measured quantities of liquids, in a batch or continuously.
WHY THE USE OF DOSING PUMPS IS SO IMPORTANT
Dosing pumps are used in applications where small and exact volumes of liquid are required to be pumped into a process. A common example in the water treatment industry is the dosing of chlorine or sodium hypochlorite into water. Chlorine must be dosed at sufficient volumes to kill biological contaminants, however too much chlorine will affect the taste of water. With the use of dosing pumps the treatment plant operator can dose a precise uninterrupted quantity to maintain the required concentration of chemical solutions.
WHAT TYPES OF DOSING PUMPS ARE AVAILABLE?
- Mechanical Diaphragm – the mechanical diaphragm pump provides an increase in performance when handling highly aggressive, high density fluids while minimizing the impact of the running cost.
- Plunger – is used when pumping viscous liquids, hot products or liquids having a low vapour pressure to avoid cavitation.
- Hydraulic Diaphragm – is a chemical pump used in high-pressure lines an example is the petrochemical process. A hydraulic diaphragm confines the changes in discharge volume due to the pressure fluctuations at the injection site.
- Solenoid – dosing pumps are dependable and precise with dosing chemicals. The flow rate can be constant or proportional. Solenoid dosing pumps are easy to install and program.
- Gear – Some industrial processes require the total absence of pulsation and an efficiency close to 100%. For this reason, the “flat” curves of the gear pumps make them perfect for extreme applications in the chemical, petrochemical and water treatment sectors.
- Vane – sealless sliding vanes pumps are designed and fabricated for constant low flow and high head self regulating applications. Due to the construction features they have zero leakages even in extreme working conditions. The absence of mechanical seal or packing.
- gland eliminates dangerous emissions.
- Progressive Cavity – these pumps are positive displacement pumps capable of pumping viscous, corrosive and media with large & high solids content. High temperature versions are also available
